The students recently created graphic organizers of Reasons for Westward Expansion (USII.3a). These organizers depict how Easterners, immigrants, and former slaves migrated west after the Civil War in search of land, wealth, adventure, and other opportunities.
This week's unit of study will include reasons for increased immigration to the United States, growth of cities, and inventions of the late 1800s (USII.3b).
We will continue to review political regions, states, and historic cities throughout the nine weeks.
